Five observations, zero opportunities: our research tool in ChatGPT
Before you contact a company, two questions come up: what can you actually see about this business in public, and is there a real reason to get in touch now? The free public preview of Tribloc Lead Intelligence is built around those two questions. It is one tool that looks at one company at a time. You give it a website, and it returns what the public record shows, with a source next to each point.
The tool is reached over MCP, an open standard that lets ChatGPT call an outside tool. We built a ChatGPT plugin for it and ran it against a real company on 2 November 2026. This post covers that one use, and states only what we measured.
What the tool does, and its limits
- One company per call. The input is a website or domain, optionally with a country. It does not take a list, map a market or rank companies.
- Public sources only. The company's own website and a small number of open records. It follows robots.txt, and where a site blocks automated access it reports that rather than trying to get around it.
- Observations, each with a source link. Where the evidence supports one, it also suggests a sales opportunity. Where it does not, it suggests none.
- It says how much it could see. Coverage is reported as complete or partial, and the limitations are part of the answer.
- No messages, no account. It sends nothing to anyone, and the endpoint needs no login or key.
A website in, a sourced picture out. Anything the evidence does not support stays out of the answer.
A real analysis in ChatGPT
We added the public endpoint as a custom plugin in ChatGPT's developer mode, and on 2 November asked it to look at a real company's website, gojiberry.ai.
The result:
- 5 observations, each with its source;
- 0 sales opportunities;
- partial coverage, flagged by the tool itself.
Zero can look like a miss. We read it the other way. The tool returns what the evidence it found supports, and if the public sources do not point to a specific reason to get in touch, it does not invent one to fill an opening line. For a salesperson, that is the more useful answer: you know what the tool looked at, you can open every source, and the decision to write, and what to say, stays with you.
In practice the use is simple. Before a first call or email, a salesperson or founder enters the company's website and spends a few minutes reading what they can reasonably mention, and what they cannot.
To be clear about where this stands: the plugin does not appear in the official ChatGPT directory. It runs as a custom plugin in developer mode.
The same check on our own site
The same evening we ran our own UK site, tribloc.co.uk, through the public endpoint directly, without the plugin. Again 5 observations and 0 opportunities, this time with complete coverage. Each observation came with its source:
- the site has a booking and enquiry call to action;
- it uses Cloudflare Web Analytics;
- the domain has been registered since 2026, according to the UK domain registry;
- it links to a Facebook profile;
- it links to an Instagram profile.
In the same session we also gave it an IP address instead of a website. It refused before doing any research, because an IP address is not a public domain name. Two runs are not an accuracy measurement, and we are not presenting them as one. They show that zero opportunities was the tool's normal answer for both companies, not a failure.
What the plugin does not do
- It sends no messages and does not contact anyone on your behalf.
- It does not produce company lists or rank companies.
- It does not read private or login-protected sources.
- It makes no accuracy promise. Each point comes with a source for you to check.
Trying it
The endpoint is public. If your ChatGPT account has developer mode, add this address as a custom
plugin: https://li.tribloc.co.uk/mcp. The endpoint itself needs no separate account or key.
Then give it one company's website and ask what is worth knowing before you get in touch.
Tribloc
The free tool gives you one company at a time. If you need the wider market, with companies selected against your own criteria, the Tribloc Lead Intelligence product guide explains how that works.
We'll build this for your business too.
